Kim Young-Hee

Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between mother's oral health attitude and preschool children's oral health, and to prepare basic data for promoting oral health of preschool children through educational programs that can change mother's attitude toward oral health as a health care policy. This study is a cross-sectional research study to figure out whether mothers' oral health attitudes affect their children's oral health through a structured, self-reported questionnaire and surveyed 182 Children¡¯s mothers in Y city from May 6 to June 19, 2021. As a result, as mother's age increased, the frequency of brushing for children increased, but there was no significant difference. There was a significant correlation relating children¡¯s behaviors practiced by their mothers with the frequency of brushing, brushing after meals, fluoride application, and dental treatment experience as influencing factors. Mouth breathing as a bad oral habit was 42.3%, and fear of going to the dentist was 49.4% for an oral behavior. This study is considered to be necessary to develop and deliver correct oral health education contents and programs to mothers for the promotion of oral health in children as a health care policies.
